Layton cemetery is Blackpool’s victorian cemetery. It was opened in 1873 and is situated on Talbot Road.
It has approximately 17,300 graves and is 22.2 acre site. It is surrounded by Talbot Road on the south side and Mansfield Road on the north and part of the west side.
The cemetery is split into 3 main areas, the Church of England graves run through the middle, with the Catholic graves running down the right hand side and other graves on the left side as you stand at the main gate on Talbot Road. There is also a Muslim section on the far left side of the cemetery and a short distance along Talbot Road is the Jewish Cemetery.
The cemetery is open daily for vehicle access from 8.30am to 6.00pm. The speed limit is 10mph due to the uneven grounds.
