Letterkenny Islamic Community Centre

The Letterkenny Islamic Association is an officially registered body in Ireland and is the representative of the Muslim community in Letterkenny and Co. Donegal. We run a local masjid and Friday prayers.

Muslims have been in Letterkenny since the late 80s. At that time, there were only a handful of Muslims but now there are over 200 from all over the world.

We are an active and contributing section of society with a large number of doctors working in Letterkenny University Hospital. In addition to this, we also contribute to the local economy with local businesses and other professionals such as in the IT industry. Over the years we have helped local charities like the We Care Letterkenny Food Bank with fund raising through a sponsored fast in Ramadan where have raised over €3000 to date thanks be to God.

We hold Friday prayers and Eid prayers in the Letterkenny Community Centre where people come from all over County Donegal as well as other counties.
